Rockhounding with Community
The club’s field trip program offers members opportunities to explore rockhounding sites across the Pacific Northwest. These trips are a members-only benefit, organized and led by volunteers.
Each trip is guided by experienced members, offering an excellent opportunity to learn and make exciting finds. Trips vary in difficulty and accessibility, with some suited for beginners and others requiring high-clearance vehicles or special equipment. The annual field trip program is announced to members in the Spring, along with detailed trip information, including any necessary tools or limitations. To protect collecting sites and ensure safety, some trips have participant limits. All collecting follows the Rockhound Code of Ethics and complies with BLM and Oregon rockhounding regulations.
The Field Trip Committee is always looking for trip leaders & volunteers, site suggestions, and opportunities to collaborate with other clubs.
