The Club maintains a volunteer-run lapidary shop located in the Watershed PDX building at 5040 SE Milwaukie Ave in Portland, OR. Use of this space is for MHRC members only and reservations are required, so be sure to check the online calendar and call the shop host to reserve your spot.
Covid precautions are still in place: face masks are REQUIRED for all individuals in the shop, capacity is currently limited to a smaller amount of guests to allow for extra distance, we have overhead ventilation fans, and we are following heightened cleaning and sanitizing protocols.
Shop use is $10 a session. We take cash or cards. If bringing cash please bring small bills to make exact change – we do not keep cash on site to make change with.
We offer inexpensive slab cutting on the oil saws for an additional fee, for both members and the public.
Our club member host volunteers teach lapidary to beginners. If it’s your first time coming to the shop the host will happily show you the ropes!
Please note: MHRC Lapidary Shop was founded and is operated as a learning center for hobbyists. Our equipment and operations are not intended for mass production or commercial work. Please respect our equipment, our gracious volunteer hosts, and fellow guests. Suggestions for improvement are always welcome!
See the club calendar for the shop schedule and shop host contact information.
