The Club maintains a volunteer-run lapidary shop located in the Watershed PDX building at 5040 SE Milwaukie Ave in Portland, OR. Use of this space is for MHRC members only and the schedule changes depending on who volunteers, so be sure to check the online calendar and call the shop host to confirm availability.
Shop use is $10 a session. We take cash or cards. If bringing cash please bring small bills to make exact change – we do not keep cash on site to make change with.
We offer inexpensive slab cutting on the oil saws for an additional fee.
Our club member host volunteers teach lapidary to beginners. If it’s your first time coming to the shop the host will happily show you the ropes!
Annual shop passes offer a great discount for enthusiastic shop users. Ask to purchase one at the next club meeting.
Please note: MHRC Lapidary Shop was founded and is operated as a learning center for hobbyists. Our equipment and operations are not intended for mass production or commercial work. Please respect our equipment, our gracious volunteer hosts, and fellow guests. Ideas and suggestions for improvement are always welcome!
See the club calendar for the shop schedule and shop host contact information.
